Los Angeles, CA — Today, millennial-run Super PAC Progress Action Fund announced its new ad campaign against vulnerable Republican Congressmembers Steve Chabot of Ohio and Yvette Herrell of New Mexico. The ads, which will run on streaming services, connected TVs, and on online platforms, highlight Republican plans to ban contraceptives, same-sex marriage, and abortion nationwide should they retake power in November.

“Republicans have shown their true colors since Roe v. Wade was overturned, and they’ll stop at nothing to take away even more rights from millions of Americans,” said Joe Jacobson, Founder & Executive Director of the Progress Action Fund.
“From Mitch McConnell, to Mike Pence, to Clarence Thomas, Republicans from all branches of government have described their plans to turn back the clock should they win in November.”
“Defeating Republicans like Steve Chabot and Yvette Herrell is instrumental to protecting our right to healthcare, our right to contraceptives, and our right to marry who we love.”
In his concurring opinion to overturn Roe v. Wade, Justice Clarence Thomas stated the Supreme Court should “reconsider” landmark rulings on same-sex marriage and contraceptives. Since then, Democrats have worked to protect the rights of millions of Amercians on these issues. Chabot & Herrell voted against Democratic legislation to protect a woman’s right to choose, the right to contraceptives, and the right for same-sex couples to marry. Chabot and Herrell are also co-sponsors of the Life at Conception Act, which would ban abortion nationwide, even in cases of rape or incest, and ban contraceptives such as IUDs. Republican leaders have also called for eliminating Medicare and banning same-sex marriage.
Yvette Herrell represents New Mexico’s second congressional district. The district is currently ranked as a “tossup” by the Cook Political Report, as the district swung 18 points to Biden under redistricting (Trump + 12 to Biden + 6), and Herrell only won by 6.5 points in 2020.
Steve Chabot represents Ohio’s first congressional district outside of Cincinnati. The district is currently ranked as a “tossup” by the Cook Political Report, as the district swung 12 points to Biden under redistricting (Trump + 3 to Biden + 9), and Chabot only won by 7 points in 2020.
