Los Angeles, CA – With just three weeks until the 2024 elections, Democratic Super PAC Progress Action Fund, in partnership with Defend The Vote, announced its largest ad buy ever of $2.5 million. The $2.5 million will be used to run Progress Action Fund’s two newest ads, “Republicans In Your Bedroom – Part 2” and “Republicans Killing Your Wife.”
The ads will run on connected TVs, streaming services, and online platforms in Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, and North Carolina. The ads are sequels to Progress Action Fund’s viral and critically acclaimed ad “Republicans In Your Bedroom,” which experts say should be in the “political ad hall of fame.”

“Despite numerous losses due to their extreme positions on reproductive rights, Republicans refuse to learn because they are beholden to their far-right base that wants a total ban on abortion,” said Joe Jacobson, Founder & Executive Director of the Progress Action Fund. “Voters have made it crystal clear that they do not want deranged Republican politicians invading their personal lives, which is why Trump and his allies will lose yet again this November.”
“This is what happens when MAGA-loving Republicans upend our democracy in service of their extreme agenda: They insert themselves into the most intimate decisions women and families will ever make. It’s inappropriate, it’s offensive, and it’s none of their business — we have to stop them,” said Brian Lemek, Executive Director of Defend The Vote.
Since overturning Roe v. Wade, Republicans have gone after access to emergency contraception, calling it “dangerous” and comparing it to “narcotics.” Senate Republicans blocked the Right to Contraception Act that would have “enshrined into federal law a right for individuals to buy and use contraceptives…birth control pills, the plan B pill, condoms, and other forms of contraception.” While in office, Donald Trump decreased access to emergency contraception, eliminating an Affordable Care Act provision requiring insurance plans to cover contraception.
Between 10 to 20 percent of all pregnancies end in miscarriage, which results in over 900,000 hospital visits annually. The number of miscarriages has been on the rise due to new abortion bans passed after the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Women from many states have reported instances of either a lack of care or refusal of care due to restrictive abortion laws. For example, in Ohio, a woman was sent home without receiving care because of doctors’ fear of the since-repealed “Heartbeat bill,” only to return hours later after losing a quarter of her blood. In Texas, a woman had to carry her dead fetus for 2 weeks due to the state’s restrictive abortion laws.
